Zlatka.in | Mascot & art redesign
For Zlatka.in, a financial literacy project financed by Raiffeisenbank, I created the mascot, illustrations, and a series of animal characters children can collect using virtual money.
We worked as a team, each with a defined role, collaborating to bring the redesign to a successful final outcome.
The designs evolved through personas and were refined based on feedback from children, ensuring that the final character motivates users to learn.
The homepage features the mascot, Zlatka, set within a landscape background that changes with the seasons.
Design process
Initial sketches explored three different versions of the new character, each with distinct outfits & hairstyles.
Through polls the users – children themselves – decided on their favorite.
After selecting the outfit, users could vote on their preferred hairstyle.
The final version features blonde hair—chosen for its connection to gold, to the name Zlatka, and continuity with the previous mascot.
The final look of the mascot reflected the users’ choices.
The art style was then refined to match the collectible animal characters, using solid colors and thin outlines.
